Historic tools as the plane are treated by Gollek like antique cabinets: frenchpolished with shellaque, put on a well proportioned and profiled base and professionally electrified: "shine a light on you...". With this new series Gollek again (like with his SeaSiders in the past) plays not only with the paradox of industrial product with brass label (every "plane light" comes with a brass label) versus the artistic tradition "signed and numbered" (represented by a little leporello that shows the production date and his signature) as well as with the definitions between Design, Craftsmanship and Art.
As the speed in our everyday life increases, Gollek understands to slow the pace a little with these very unique objects that come with a warm and "homey" light and remind a bit of those "good old days" where tradition and the crafts designed the world we once knew...
